Posted by: SandiWelcome to The Sounding Board! I’m glad to have you as my guest. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee, relax, and read for a bit. (You can even put your feet up on your desk…I won’t tell.)
If this is your first visit to The Sounding Board, you might want to know a little more about the who’s, what’s, and why’s of what The Sounding Board is. Well, the who is ME - Sandi Johnson, owner of Virtually Yours, LLC. The what - well, if I have to explain that this is a blog, hmmm…I might have to wonder about you & where you’ve been for the last decade.
The why - that’s the easy part. ‘Cause I want to!
Okay, actually the why is because after spending over 15 years in American business, I have lots of ideas, opinions, and suggestions to share - especially with those of us lucky enough to have channeled our passion & creativity into a profitable business.
Interested in a little history? Okay. I can accommodate that. I started Virtually Yours, LLC in 2003 purely by luck. I left “Corporate America” to strike out on my own. I thought I had a unique idea - offering remote administrative support to small business owners who really didn’t have the space, time, or budget for a full-time, in-house administrative professional. For two years I operated under the name GFG & Company, and with the erroneous idea that I was doing something no one else was doing. In 2006, I discovered the Virtual Assistance industry & realized I wasn’t that unique. There are over 8,000 of us in the United States now and the industry is growing by leaps and bounds! In early 2006 I changed my company name, organized as an LLC, joined two top-notch professional organizations, and honed in on my *ideal* niche - creative solo professionals.
It’s been a wonderful journey for which I am eternally grateful. I work with some of the best clients a VA could hope for, I love what I do, and it just so happens that I manage to keep eating and paying the mortgage while doing it. What more could a girl ask for?
So, now you know a little more about me and my company. Feel free to kick off your shoes & hang out for a bit. And afterwards, if you want to learn more, by all means drop me an email! ![]()
